As children are becoming more confident learners our Pre-school areas provide every opportunity for children to develop and progress in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

 

The Pre-school areas promote independence, with children leading their play and a team of practitioners on hand to enhance and support each child's development. The Pre-school area introduces more structure and group work, preparing them for school life-circle time, where they can take turns talking and discussing simple topics such as the weather and exciting things they have done over the weekend/holidays. Practitioners also use the children’s interests to plan a stimulating and enjoyable variety of activities to enable children in the seven areas of learning.

 

All the children have access to our interactive whiteboard, they can use a range of educational programs and have access to the internet in a safe and secure way to enhance their computer skills and knowledge on a whole range of diverse subjects. 

 

The staff/child ratio in the Pre-school room is 1 staff:8 children

 

Rachel is the supervisor in Pre-school and SEND co. She is level 3 qualified and has worked at Nursery since finishing college in 2014. Rachel has always worked in the Pre-school room but also has a sound knowledge of all ages of children.

 

Emma Ha is a key worker in the Pre-school room, she is level 3 qualified and has worked at Nursery since 2011. Emma has worked with all ages in nursery but has settled in the Pre-school room.

 

Joanne is a key worker in the Pre-school room, she is level 5 qualified and joined the Nursery in 2020. Joanne has over 30 years’ experience working with children.

 

Andrea is a keyworker in the Pre-school room, she is level 3 qualified and has worked at Nursery since 2014. Andrea has over 25 years’ experience working with children.
